I never thought I’d seriously take the time to color when I invested in an adult coloring book at a gift store while visiting Oregon. But, I wanted a souvenir that wouldn’t collect dust. I remembered how much I loved coloring the posters that were popular in the 1980’s. My girlfriend had one hanging on her wall in her home. Friends would come over, grab pencils and start coloring. Totally addicting. So I went ahead and purchased a Natura Colouring Book, “64 pages to color in for relaxation and calm.”
Relaxation and calm is right. I spend about 45 – 90 minutes many evenings coloring before settling in for a night of Netflix with my husband and cat. Here are a couple of photos of me coloring:
Now, we all know another passion of mine is photography. What would happen if I took photos of my finished pages and played with them in Photoshop? Well, born was the inspiration for two of our newest tee designs - "All We Need Is Love" and "Yellow Makes Me Smile." (The Smile tee has it's own backstory. You can read THAT here.)
There are so many beautiful designs created from my colored pages, it is hard to choose what to create next. Here are some examples and possibilties for future "coloring book" tees.
I created a video showing the amazing transformation of color book page to a design. Enjoy!
